This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of the Missouri
Ozarks and extreme southeast Kansas.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

Weather hazards expected...

  Slight tornado risk.
  Enhanced hail risk.
  Enhanced thunderstorm wind damage risk.
  Elevated lightning risk.
  Limited excessive heat risk.
  Elevated excessive rainfall risk
  Limited non thunderstorm wind risk.

DISCUSSION...

Gusty south to southwesterly wind gusts of 35-45 mph will occur
at times this morning through this afternoon. The strongest winds
will occur along and northwest of Interstate 44.

Heat index values will warm into the lower 90s to around 100
degrees this afternoon.

Slight (2 to 5) to Enhanced (3 of 5) Severe Risk for severe
thunderstorms will occur late this afternoon into tonight with
all hazards possible. Primary hazards are hail up to the size of
baseballs, 70-80 mph winds, and a few tornadoes. The greatest
severe risk is this evening across central MO. Localized heavy
rainfall may support flash flooding.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday.

Marginal (1 of 5) Severe Risk for severe thunderstorms on
Thursday into early Thursday night, mainly along and south of
Highway 60. Large hail to the size of golf balls, damaging winds
up to 60 mph, and flash flooding are possible.

Thunderstorm chances return this weekend into early next week.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

 Spotter activation may be needed this afternoon for central
Missouri.
