CDT TUESDAY...

* WHAT...Heat index values up to 105 expected.

* WHERE...Portions of southeast Kansas and central, south central,
  southwest, and west central Missouri.

* WHEN...From 11 AM this morning to 8 PM CDT Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
  illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of the Missouri
Ozarks and extreme southeast Kansas.

.DAY ONE...Tonight.

Weather hazards expected...

 Limited lightning risk.

DISCUSSION...

There is a 15 to 20 percent chance for an isolated thunderstorm
east of Highway 63 this evening.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday.

Additional scattered thunderstorm chances will then occur at
times next week.

Highs in the 90s with heat index values of 100 to 105 degrees
are expected during the upcoming work week. A Heat Advisory is in
effect for portions of south-central Missouri, southwest
Missouri,
and extreme southeast Kansas for Monday and Tuesday, though
Moderate to Major heat-related risks may continue through at
least
Wednesday and Thursday.
