Weather hazards expected... Limited lightning risk. Elevated extreme heat risk. Elevated fire weather risk. DISCUSSION... Hot temperatures will continue today with highs in the upper 90s to lower 100s. Heat indicies will reach the 100 to 107 degree range across the western half of the area. There is a low chance (10-20 percent) of a isolated thunderstorm this afternoon along and west of Highway 65. Increasing south winds and low humidity will create an elevated fire risk across southeast Kansas and western Missouri. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday. Hot temperatures continue Wednesday with heat indicies around 100-107. Shower and thunderstorm chances of 60 to 90 percent on Wednesday evening into Thursday along a frontal passage.
