There is a greater (slight) risk of damaging winds from thunderstorms later today, especially by this evening into the overnight hours and the risk covers the greater part of the entire area; it also includes a small but still present risk of large hail and isolated tornadoes. Last but not least, any storms today will be capable of frequent deadly lightning, and especially where storms can repeat over any areas, very heavy rainfall could lead to localized flooding issues. The heat index will reach into the triple digits this afternoon from Fulton county, KY westward along the MO/AR state line. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday Thunderstorm chances linger Thursday and reappear in the forecast in some small fashion later this weekend into early next week, but no significant widespread hazardous weather is anticipated at this time. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
