...COLD WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM SATURDAY TO
NOON CST SUNDAY...

* WHAT...Very cold wind chills as low as 16 expected.

* WHERE...Portions of central, south central, southwest, and west
  central Louisiana and southeast Texas.

* WHEN...From 6 PM Saturday to noon CST Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin
  is exposed to these temperatures.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a
hat, and gloves.

Keep pets indoors as much as possible.

Make sure outdoor animals have a warm, dry shelter, food, and
unfrozen water.

Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure
portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills
inside.

If you do not have heat in your home or lack shelter, you can call
211 for assistance locating appropriate shelter from the cold.

.Showers will continue into the weekend with a colder airmass moving
into the region behind a strong cold front. Freezing rain will be
possible with ice accumulations on power lines and roads. Elevated
roadways and bridges will be faster to freeze.

SUNDAY AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Significant icing possible. Total ice accumulations between
  one tenth and four tenths of an inch possible.

* WHERE...Portions of central, south central, southwest, and west
  central Louisiana and southeast Texas.

* WHEN...From Saturday afternoon through Sunday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will
  likely become slick and hazardous.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Persons should delay all travel if possible. If travel is absolutely
necessary, drive with extreme caution and be prepared for sudden
changes in visibility. Leave plenty of room between you and the
motorist ahead of you, and allow extra time to reach your
destination. Avoid sudden braking or acceleration, and be especially
cautious on hills or when making turns. Make sure your car is
winterized and in good working order.
