...A LINE OF SHOWERS WILL AFFECT NORTHWESTERN ST. BERNARD...SOUTHERN
ST. CHARLES...SOUTHWESTERN ORLEANS...CENTRAL TERREBONNE...NORTH
CENTRAL LAFOURCHE AND NORTHWESTERN JEFFERSON PARISHES...

At 1033 AM CDT, radar indicated showers were located along a line
extending from East New Orleans to 6 miles southwest of Houma.
Movement of the showers was northeast at 15 mph. This line is nearly
stationary.

Locations impacted include...
New Orleans, Houma, Avondale, Metairie, Marrero, Harvey, Chalmette,
Timberlane, Jefferson, Gretna, Harahan, Westwego, Lockport, Mathews,
Luling, River Ridge, Raceland, Ama, Estelle and Bayou Cane.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these showers, and may
cause localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of Southeast
Louisiana...South Mississippi and the adjacent coastal waters.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Scattered thunderstorms are expected through the early evening
hours today. A few of the thunderstorms could turn strong and
produce frequent lightning strikes, wind gusts of 30 mph, and
locally heavy rainfall of 1 to 2 inches per hour.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday

Scattered thunderstorms are expected each day during the week.
Some of these storms could become strong and produce gusty winds,
frequent lightning and locally heavy rainfall. An area wide wetter
pattern may develop toward the end of this week and a marginal
risk of excessive rainfall will begin Friday.
