...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 AM EST
THURSDAY...

* WHAT...Heavy mixed precipitation, with the biggest remaining
  threat being freezing rain. Additional snow and sleet
  accumulations of less than one inch, and ice accumulations of
  one tenth to one quarter of an inch. Freezing rain is expected
  to transition to rain by 1 am.

* WHERE...Portions of north central and western Maryland, northern
  and northwest Virginia and eastern West Virginia.

* WHEN...Until 1 AM EST Thursday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Travel will be very difficult. The
  hazardous conditions will impact the evening commute. The
  combined weight of snow, sleet and freezing rain could result
  in downed branches and isolated power outages.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow, sleet
and ice will make travel very hazardous or impossible.

When venturing outside, watch your first few steps taken on
steps, sidewalks, and driveways, which could be icy and slippery,
increasing your risk of a fall and injury.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for eastern West Virginia,
northern and central Virginia, and central and western Maryland
with the exception of Garrett County.

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight

A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for the northern and western
suburbs of Washington and Baltimore, the central Shenandoah
Valley into this evening. A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for
the northern Shenandoah Valley, north-central and western
Maryland, and eastern West Virginia until 1 am overnight. A Winter
Weather Advisory is in effect for central Virginia into this
evening.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday

Rain is expected Saturday through Saturday night, and possibly
into Sunday. Rain may be heavy at times. Excess runoff from
already saturated soils may cause flooding of small streams and
urban areas Saturday into Sunday. Freshwater flooding is possible
later Sunday through Monday along the upper Tidal Potomac River.

Spotters are asked to reports significant wintry weather via
normal operating procedures.
