An Extreme Cold Warning is in effect for the Washington DC and Baltimore Metro areas to northeast Maryland. Cold Weather Advisories are in effect elsewhere for the same time period. Wind Advisories are in effect for portions of the areas through 10 PM. A Gale Warning is in effect through 6 AM. A Heavy Freezing Spray Warning is in effect through tonight for the waters around southern Maryland, with Freezing Spray Advisories north to Sandy Point through tonight. Low Water Advisories are in effect for well below normal tides beginning this afternoon. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday Dangerously cold wind chills continue. An Extreme Cold Warning remains in effect through Sunday morning for the Washington DC and Baltimore Metro areas to northeast Maryland. For the Wind Advisory, northwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph. * WHERE...The District of Columbia, central, northeast, northern, and southern Maryland, and northern Virginia. * WHEN...For the Wind Advisory, until 10 PM EST this evening. For the Extreme Cold Warning, until 10 AM EST Sunday. * IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. The cold wind chills as low as 10 below zero could result in hypothermia if precautions are not taken. Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
