This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for eastern West Virginia,
northern and central Virginia, and central and western Maryland
with the exception of Garrett County.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

An Excessive Heat Warning remains in effect for areas along and
east of the Blue Ridge Mountains, as well as portions of northern
Maryland, the eastern West Virginia panhandle, and northern and
northwestern Virginia from 11 AM this morning until 9 PM EDT this
evening.

A Heat Advisory remains in effect from 11 AM this morning until 9
PM EDT this evening for portions of western Maryland, eastern West
Virginia and the Shenandoah Valley.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday

An Excessive Heat Watch remains in effect for much of northern
and central Maryland, the eastern West Virginia panhandle, and
portions of northern and northwestern Virginia Sunday morning
through Sunday evening.

Thunderstorms are likely late Sunday through Monday, and may be
capable of producing damaging wind gusts or flooding.

...EXCESSIVE HEAT WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM SUNDAY MORNING
THROUGH SUNDAY EVENING...

* HEAT INDEX VALUES...Up to 115 due to temperatures around 100,
  and dewpoints in the mid 70s.

* IMPACTS...Dangerously high temperatures and humidity could
  quickly cause heat stress or heat stroke if precautions are
  not taken.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

An Excessive Heat Warning means that a prolonged period of
dangerously high temperatures will occur. The combination of
extreme temperatures and high humidity will create a dangerous
situation in which heat illnesses are expected. Check in on
relatives and neighbors.

A Heat Advisory means that a period of high temperatures is
expected. The combination of high temperatures and high humidity
will create a situation in which heat illnesses are possible.

An Excessive Heat Watch means that a prolonged period of
dangerously high temperatures is possible. Prepare for extreme
temperatures and high humidity which would create a situation in
which heat illnesses are expected.

Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When
possible, reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when
possible and drink plenty of water.

To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and
Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks
in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by
heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke
is an emergency - call 911.
