This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of central Upper
Michigan and western Upper Michigan.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Areas of fog and freezing fog dissipate through daybreak.
Some patchy freezing rain or freezing drizzle is possible in the
eastern UP this morning, but significant ice accumulations are
not expected.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday

An impactful winter storm will move into the Great Lakes region
Tuesday night through Wednesday. Potential impacts include heavy
snow, strong winds, and possible mixed precipitation, depending on
the track and strength of the system.

A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for Marquette, Baraga,
Northern Houghton, and Keweenaw Counties Tuesday evening through
Wednesday. This may be expanded elsewhere.

The need for weather spotter reports is not anticipated at this
time.

...FREEZING RAIN SHOWERS POSSIBLE THIS MORNING...

Radar imagery is showing freezing rain showers moving from west to
east across Upper Michigan this morning. These showers are leaving
a glaze of ice on untreated surfaces, making them slick. Be sure
to take it slow on the roads this morning as black ice may have
formed underneath one of the freezing rain showers!

...WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FROM TUESDAY EVENING THROUGH
WEDNESDAY EVENING...

* WHAT...Mixed precipitation changing to heavy snow. Ice
  accumulations around one tenth of an inch possible in Marquette
  and Baraga Counties. Total snow accumulations between 4 and 8
  inches, greatest in the high terrain of Marquette County and in
  the Keweenaw Peninsula. Winds could gust as high as 45 mph,
  strongest in the Keweenaw Peninsula and near Lake Superior.

* WHERE...Baraga, Marquette, Keweenaw, and Northern Houghton
  Counties.

* WHEN...From Tuesday evening through Wednesday evening.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions
  will impact the Wednesday morning and evening commutes. Gusty
  winds could bring down tree branches. Wet snow and gusty winds may
  cause sporadic power outages.
