This hazardous weather outlook is for Eastern Upper Michigan and
Northern Lower Michigan.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

Scattered thunderstorms are possible early this morning, mainly
over the Tip of the Mitt and eastern upper Michigan. An isolated
severe storm is possible, producing large hail and damaging wind.

Dangerously hot and muggy weather is expected through Monday.

Air quality advisories are in effect on today for the Lake
Michigan coastline due to high levels of ozone. Please see the

High swim risks are in place for many northern Michigan beaches.

Dangerously hot and muggy weather is expected through Monday.

...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM EDT MONDAY...

* WHAT...High temperatures in the lower and middle 90s today and
  Monday with overnight low temperatures only dropping into the 70s
  to lower 80s tonight. The combination of heat and humidity will
  result in heat indices of 95 to 104 degrees during the afternoon
  hours each day.

* WHERE...Northern Lower Michigan.

* WHEN...Until 8 PM EDT Monday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
  related illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and
Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in
shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat
should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an
emergency! Call 9 1 1.
