This hazardous weather outlook is for southeast Michigan.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for all of southeast
Michigan until 11 pm EDT.

A moist and unstable airmass will lead to numerous thunderstorms
developing this afternoon, continuing through much of tonight as a
frontal boundary hangs around. Some of thunderstorms will be severe
with the main threat being wind gusts in excess of 60 MPH and hail
around 1 inch around diameter. However, an isolated tornado cannot
be ruled out. Heavy rainfall is also possible which may cause urban
and small stream type flooding.

The storms look to be strongest in the 3-10 PM window. Average storm
motion will be east around 25 mph.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday

There is a continued chance of thunderstorms Thursday and Friday,
with a marginal risk of severe storms on Friday.

...THE URBAN AND SMALL STREAM FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL
815 PM EDT FOR NORTHERN WAYNE...SOUTHERN OAKLAND...SOUTHWESTERN
MACOMB AND NORTHEASTERN WASHTENAW COUNTIES...

At 600 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated clusters of thunderstorms
over Detroit while additional storms moved from northeast Washtenaw
into southern Oakland and northern Wayne counties. This activity
will bring additional heavy rainfall between 600 PM and 700 PM
adding to rainfall totals from 1 to 2 inches so far this afternoon.
Urban and small stream flooding remains likely across the advisory
area.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Warren, Livonia, Southfield, St. Clair Shores, Novi, Grosse Pointe,
Downtown Detroit, Canton, Detroit, Dearborn, Royal Oak, South Lyon,
Northville, Salem, Greenfield Village, Detroit Zoo, Belle Isle,
Whitmore Lake, Westland and Farmington Hills.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.
