This hazardous weather outlook is for southeast Michigan.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

There is a chance of thunderstorms between 2-8 PM this evening. Any
thunderstorm that develops is not expected to be severe, but will be
capable of wind gusts to 50 mph and hail under an inch in diameter.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday

An Extreme Heat Watch is in effect from Saturday morning through
Tuesday evening. Please see the latest urgent weather message for
additional information.

There will be a chance for strong to severe thunderstorms Saturday
morning, especially north of I-69.

The chance for strong thunderstorms returns for Tuesday and Wednesday.

...EXTREME HEAT WATCH IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY MORNING THROUGH
TUESDAY EVENING...

* WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 104
  possible.

* WHERE...All of southeast Michigan.

* WHEN...From Saturday morning through Tuesday evening.

* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during
  extreme heat and high humidity events.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Consecutive days of heat indices near or
  above 100 combined with overnight low temperatures remaining in
  the 70s will lead to dangerous conditions through the start of the
  week.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car
interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.

Monitor the latest forecasts and warnings for updates.

Check with local emergency management officials for information on
cooling center availability.
