This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of northeast
Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Strong east to northeast winds are expected this afternoon through
tonight. A Wind Advisory is in effect for expected gusts of 45 to
50 mph, mainly near the North Shore. Use caution if driving high-
profile vehicles.

Isolated thunderstorms will be possible this afternoon into
tonight as widespread rain moves through the region. Severe
weather is not expected.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday

Isolated thunderstorms will be possible Wednesday morning into
the early afternoon over northwest Wisconsin. Severe weather is
not expected.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Skywarn spotter activation is not anticipated today or tonight.
Rainfall amounts from spotters and the public are encouraged.

...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS TODAY FOR PORTIONS OF
NORTHEAST MINNESOTA...

Humidity values will drop to 18 to 25 percent today and easterly
winds are expected to strengthen with gusts of 25 to 40 mph.
Together, these conditions could lead to the rapid spread of
fires. Check burning restrictions and fire danger before burning.

...WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO
MIDNIGHT CDT TONIGHT...

* WHAT...East winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected.

* WHERE...In Minnesota, Carlton and South St. Louis, Northern Cook
  and Lake, Southern Cook, and Southern Lake Counties. In Wisconsin,
  Douglas County. This includes the Tribal Lands of the Grand
  Portage Reservation and the Fond du Lac Band.This also includes
  the Boundary Waters eastern and central area.

* WHEN...From 1 PM this afternoon to midnight CDT tonight.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree
  limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A few gusts to 50 mph will be possible along
  the higher terrain of the North Shore and in the Twin Ports area.
  Areas well inland from Lake Superior in Douglas County will see
  lower winds.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
