This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of northeast
Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin.

.DAY ONE...Tonight

Isolated thunderstorms are possible this afternoon. While severe
weather is unlikely this afternoon, a few storms may produce small
hail and locally gusty winds.

Scattered thunderstorms, some becoming severe, will be possible
tonight from the Brainerd Lakes into the St. Croix river valley.
Potential hazards include large hail up to 1 inch in diameter and
damaging winds up to 60 mph.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday

Scattered strong to severe thunderstorms are possible late Friday
evening into early Saturday morning. North-central Minnesota will
have the greatest potential for severe weather on Friday night.
However, severe weather will be possible across the Northland.
Potential hazards include destructive winds up to 80 mph, very
large hail up to 2" in diameter, a chance for tornadoes, and
locally heavy rainfall leading to flash flooding. Flash flooding
will be most likely in areas that saw heavy rainfall last Monday.

Dangerously hot weather is possible Saturday and Sunday. Heat
index values from 95 to 105 degrees are possible.

Additional strong to severe thunderstorms may be possible Sunday
into early Monday.

rainfall amounts to the National Weather Service.

...EXTREME HEAT WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM SUNDAY AFTERNOON
THROUGH SUNDAY EVENING...

* WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 100
  possible.

* WHERE...In Minnesota, Northern Aitkin, Koochiching, North Cass,
  Itasca, Carlton, St. Louis, and Northern Cook and Lake Counties.
  In Wisconsin, Ashland, Bayfield, Douglas, and Iron Counties. This
  includes the Tribal Lands of the Mille Lacs Band, Big Sandy Lake
  area, the Red Cliff Band, the Bad River Reservation, the Fond du
  Lac Band, the northwestern area of the Lac du Flambeau Band and
  the Bois Forte Band, Lake Vermilion, Nett Lake and, Deer Creek
  areas. Other locations including the Apostle Islands National
  Lakeshore, Voyageurs National Park and Madeline Island. The entire
  Boundary Waters is also included.

* WHEN...From Sunday afternoon through Sunday evening.

* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during
  extreme heat and high humidity events.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
