This will cause small stream flooding. Rapid river rises will cause minor flooding in the advisory area. Between 1.5 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are expected over the area. LOUIS COUNTIES... At 301 AM CDT Saturday, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain in especially within the Quad Cities on the Range. Between 2.5 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 1.5 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Damaging wind up to 70-80 mph and heavy rainfall leading to potential flash flooding are the main hazards. A couple tornadoes cannot be ruled out in the apex of the bow in the line across the Arrowhead, but the threat is lower. Dangerously hot weather in store for today, with heat index values from 95 to 105 degrees expected. Extreme Heat Warnings and Heat Advisories are in effect. A conditional threat for a few isolated strong to severe storms can`t be ruled out later this afternoon and evening, but the potential is low. Large hail and wind gusts up to 60 mph would be the main threats. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday Dangerously hot weather is expected again on Sunday. Heat index values from 95 to 105 degrees are possible. Additional strong to severe thunderstorms may be possible Sunday into early Monday, with damaging winds and large hail as the main threats.
