...EXTREME HEAT WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM NOON SATURDAY TO 9 PM
CDT SUNDAY...

* WHAT...For the Heat Advisory, heat index values up to 99 expected.
  For the Extreme Heat Warning, dangerously hot conditions with heat
  index values up 105 to 110 likely. Low temperatures tonight and
  Saturday night will remain in the mid 70s to lower 80s, providing
  little relief from the heat.

* WHERE...Kandiyohi, McLeod, Meeker, Sibley, Freeborn, Le Sueur,
  Waseca, Stevens, and Swift Counties.

* WHEN...For the Heat Advisory, from 2 PM this afternoon to noon CDT
  Saturday. For the Extreme Heat Warning, from noon Saturday to 9 PM
  CDT Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Heat-related illnesses increase significantly during
  extreme heat and high humidity events. Hot temperatures and high
  humidity may cause heat illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car
interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of central and
southern Minnesota, and west central Wisconsin.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

Heat index values of 100 to 105 degrees are likely in portions of
southwestern Minnesota today. Excessive Heat Warnings and Heat
Advisories in place.

Complexes of thunderstorms tonight will be confined mostly to
northern Minnesota. However, some storms may impact parts of
central Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin. Large hail and damaging
winds would be possible.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday.

Extreme heat is expected across the entire coverage area Saturday
and Sunday. Heat indices of 105 to 110 degrees are likely during
the afternoon. In addition, low temperatures will be in the mid
70s to lower 80s, providing little relief from the heat. Excessive
Heat Warnings are in place for the entire coverage area through
the weekend.

Multiple rounds of thunderstorms are likely starting Sunday night
and continuing through midweek, with the potential for heavy rain
and flooding where thunderstorms train over the same areas. The
threat is highest from southern Minnesota into western Wisconsin.
Severe thunderstorms are possible Sunday night, particularly in
western Minnesota.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

SKYWARN spotter activation will likely be needed tonight and again
Sunday night.
