...EXTREME HEAT WARNING IN EFFECT FROM NOON FRIDAY TO 9 PM CDT
SUNDAY...

* WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values of 105 to
  110 expected. Low temperatures Saturday night will remain in the
  mid 70s to lower 80s, providing little relief from the heat.

* WHERE...Renville, Blue Earth, Brown, Faribault, Martin, Nicollet,
  Watonwan, Redwood, Chippewa, Lac Qui Parle, and Yellow Medicine
  Counties.

* WHEN...From noon Friday to 9 PM CDT Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Heat-related illnesses increase significantly during
  extreme heat and high humidity events.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car
interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of central and
southern Minnesota, and west central Wisconsin.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

A few severe thunderstorms are possible tonight into Friday
morning, primarily north of Interstate 94. Large hail is the
primary threat.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.

Severe thunderstorms are likely across central Minnesota &
northwest Wisconsin late Friday night, with a lower threat
extending down into southern Minnesota. Damaging wind gusts are
the primary threat, followed by tornadoes & large hail.

Excessive heat expected area-wide this weekend, & possible Friday
afternoon across southwest Minnesota. Heat indices of 100-110
degrees are likely during the afternoon. In addition, low
temperatures Saturday night will be in the mid 70s to lower 80s,
providing little relief from the heat.

Multiple rounds of thunderstorms are likely next week, with the
potential for heavy rain and flooding where thunderstorms train
over the same areas. The threat is highest from southern Minnesota
into western Wisconsin.
