...The flood warning continues for the following river in
Missouri and Illinois...

      Lock and Dam 21

      Hannibal

      Saverton

      Louisiana

      Clarksville

      Winfield

      Grafton

      Mel Price Lock and Dam

      St. Louis

      Chester


River forecasts are based on observed precipitation and forecast
precipitation for the next 24 hours.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Rainfall heavier than forecast could cause river levels to rise even
higher than predicted.  The National Weather Service will monitor
this developing situation and issue follow up statements as
conditions or forecasts change.

Safety message:  Never drive cars, trucks, or sport utility vehicles
through flooded areas.  The water may be too deep to allow for safe
passage.

The Flood Warning continues for
  The Mississippi River at St. Louis
* Until further notice.
* At 9:30 AM Wednesday the stage was 38.6 feet.
* Flood stage is 30.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* The river is forecast to continue to fall to near 38.2 feet Friday
  morning.

The National Weather Service in St Louis has issued a

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for Poor Drainage Areas
  for...
  Southwestern St. Louis City in east central Missouri...
  South central St. Louis County in east central Missouri...

* Until 730 PM CDT.

* At 423 PM CDT, gauge reports indicated several creeks have risen
  close to flood stage including MacKenzie Creek in Shrewsberry and
  Martigney Creek in Oakville. Up to two inches of rain has already
  fallen. The heaviest rain has moved out of the area with little
  additional rainfall expected.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  St. Louis, Webster Groves, Arnold, Crestwood, Sunset Hills,
  Shrewsbury, Glendale, Lakeshire, Oakland, Affton, Lemay, Mehlville,
  Oakville, Green Park, Marlborough, St. George, Grantwood Village,
  Bella Villa, East Carondelet and Wilbur Park.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of eastern and
central Missouri as well as west central and southwest Illinois.

.DAY ONE...Tonight.

Scattered thunderstorms will continue into the evening hours. A few
of the storms may be strong to severe and capable of producing hail
and gusty winds.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday.

There is a chance of thunderstorms across southeast Missouri and
southwest Illinois on Thursday. There is also a chance of
thunderstorms across parts of the region on Monday and Tuesday.

Spotters are encouraged to report any severe weather, if observed,
to the National Weather Service..
