...DENSE FOG ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM CDT THIS MORNING...

The National Weather Service in Springfield has issued a Dense
Fog Advisory, which is in effect until 9 AM CDT this morning.

* VISIBILITY...Visibility will drop to a half mile or less across
  portions of central and southern Missouri through the early
  morning hours.

* IMPACTS...Sudden changes in visibility will make for hazardous
  driving conditions. If driving, proceed with caution and use
  low beam headlights.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Dense Fog Advisory means visibilities will frequently be
reduced to less than one quarter mile. If driving, slow down, use
your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of the Missouri
Ozarks and extreme southeast Kansas.

.DAY ONE...Tonight.

Weather hazards expected...

  Limited flooding risk.
  Limited lightning risk.
  Significant fog risk.

DISCUSSION...

  While flash flooding is no longer expected, residual runoff
  will cause flooding of low lying areas in places that received
  excess rain today.

  Patchy fog is expected late tonight into early Tuesday morning,
  leading to locally reduced visibility and hazardous driving
  conditions.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday.

  Patchy fog is expected late tonight into early Tuesday morning,
  leading to locally reduced visibility and hazardous driving
  conditions.

  A complex of showers and storms will develop to the west of the
  area Tuesday evening and move into the area Tuesday night into
  Wednesday with the potential for strong to severe storms and
  flooding, especially across southeast Kansas and western
  Missouri.

  Additional showers and storms will then return to the area by
  next weekend.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

  Spotter activation will not be needed through tonight.
