.KEY MESSAGES...

- Widespread showers and thunderstorms are expected throughout the
  day with heavy rainfall in some locations potentially leading to
  flash flooding.

- A few strong to severe thunderstorms are possible this afternoon
  and evening with the main hazards being hail and damaging wind
  gusts.

- Additional thunderstorms are forecast late tonight and early
  Tuesday morning with another round possible along a cold front
  Tuesday afternoon/evening.

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.

* WHERE...Portions of central and east central Missouri, including
  the following areas, in central Missouri, Boone MO, Callaway MO,
  Cole MO, Moniteau MO and Osage MO. In east central Missouri,
  Crawford MO, Franklin MO, Gasconade MO, Montgomery MO, Warren MO
  and Washington MO.

* WHEN...From 7 AM CDT this morning through this evening.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
  creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - Potential rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches, with localized
    higher amounts of 4 to 6 inches.
