This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of the Missouri
Ozarks and extreme southeast Kansas.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

Weather hazards expected...

  Significant extreme heat risk.

DISCUSSION...

Heat index values around 105 to 110 degrees will occur across the
area again this afternoon into early this evening. Limited relief
will occur during the overnight hours as lows only cool into the
middle 70s to the lower 80s.

There is a low chance (less than 15 percent) for an isolated
thunderstorm north of Highway 54 overnight. Most if not all
locations should remain dry today as chances and coverage if
storms develop are low.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday.

Heat index values around 105 to 110 degrees will persist across
the area this weekend. Longevity of extreme heat with limited
relief during the night will elevate the heat risk and potential
impacts.

There is a low chance (less than 20 percent) for an isolated
thunderstorm north of Highway 54 Saturday night. Most if not all
locations should remain dry on Saturday as chances and coverage if
storms develop are low.

Extensive periods of hot temperatures, somewhat dry air, and a
bit of breezy winds may lead to quick drying of fuels and locally
elevated fire weather.

Shower and thunderstorm chances (20 to 50 percent) will occur
across portions of the area Sunday night into Monday morning.
Gusty winds and locally heavy rainfall will be possible.

Additional rain chances (10-30 percent), will return late next
week.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation will not be needed through tonight.
