Weather hazards expected... Marginal tornado risk. Slight hail risk. Slight thunderstorm wind damage risk. Limited lightning risk. Limited excessive heat risk. Elevated excessive rainfall risk DISCUSSION... A Flood Watch remains in effect until 1 PM today. The greatest near-term flooding risk is across extreme southwest Missouri and extreme southeast Kansas where storms are currently lining up to train and produce amounts of 2 to 4 inches, with localized pockets up to 7 or more inches. If the higher amounts occur over populated areas, potentially significant and life-threatening flash flooding could occur. Turn around, don`t drown! Additionally, a Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect until 8 AM this morning. While the main threat is flash flooding, some isolated instances of wind gusts up to 60 mph, quarter sized hail, and brief spin-up tornadoes are possible. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday. Above normal temperatures and humidity next week will lead to Heat Index values in the mid-90s to lower 100s. With this being the first heat of the season, paired with warm nighttime temperatures, heat-related impacts may be slightly heightened. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotter activation may be needed this morning and tonight for areas west of Highway 65. && More detailed information can be accessed at: http://www.weather.gov/sgf/dsspacket This product in graphical format...along with other weather... hydrological and climate information...at http://www.weather.gov/sgf $$ Price
