Weather hazards expected... Limited lightning risk. Elevated excessive rainfall risk DISCUSSION... Rain and thunderstorms will move through far southwest Missouri and southeast Kansas overnight. Stronger storms will produce efficient rainfall rates, which may produce very localized flooding for areas that have saturated soils, elevated streamflows, or have recently experienced significant rainfall. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday. Greater coverage of showers and thunderstorms are expected Sunday through Monday. With continued potential for high rain rates, a Slight Risk for excessive rainfall and subsequent flash flooding exists across southwest Missouri and extreme southeast Kansas Sunday through Monday. A Flood Watch has been issued for 1 PM Sunday to 1 PM Monday for areas along and west of Hwy 63. 1-3 inch per hour downpours possible leading to a flash flooding risk. Rainfall amounts of 1-3 inches with localized amounts up to 5 inches possible. Above normal temperatures and humidity next week will lead to Heat Index values in the mid-90s to lower 100s. With this being the first heat of the season, paired with warm nighttime temperatures, heat-related impacts may be slightly heightened. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
