* WHAT...South winds 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph expected.

* WHERE...Lake Wappapello in Missouri, Crab Orchard and Rend Lake in
  Illinois, and Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley in Kentucky.

* WHEN...From 11 AM this morning to 4 PM CDT this afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Strong winds and rough waves on large area lakes may
  create hazardous conditions for small craft.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of southern
Illinois, southwest Indiana, western Kentucky, and southeast
Missouri.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Breezy conditions may lead to challenging conditions for small
craft on large area lakes today.

A few severe storms with damaging winds and large hail are
possible, especially across southern Illinois and the Interstate
64 corridor. Locally heavy rainfall will also be a concern.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday

Numerous thunderstorms are expected Tuesday and Tuesday night. A
few severe storms cannot be ruled out, but locally heavy rainfall
and localized flash flooding will be a greater concern throughout
the Quad State.

A daily chance of afternoon thunderstorms is forecast from
Wednesday through Saturday.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation may be needed this afternoon and evening,
especially along the Interstate 64 corridor. Spotter activation
may also be needed Tuesday.
