An active pattern will continue through the end of the work week.
Numerous to widespread showers and storms are expected Thursday and
Friday. Some areas have received excessive rainfall in the last
few days, and any additional rain falling on saturated soils may
result in isolated to scattered flash flooding. A few strong to
severe storms are also possible Thursday and Friday, mainly in the
afternoon through evening, with damaging wind gusts as the primary
threat.

...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH LATE THURSDAY NIGHT...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.

* WHERE...A portion of central North Carolina, including the
  following counties, Cumberland, Edgecombe, Franklin, Halifax,
  Harnett, Johnston, Nash, Sampson, Wake, Wayne and Wilson.

* WHEN...Through late Thursday night.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
  creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - Slow moving thunderstorms capable of producing torrential
    rainfall over already saturated soils may result in flooding
    through Thursday night.
