...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 700 PM EDT
FOR NORTHERN ALAMANCE...EAST CENTRAL DAVIDSON...NORTHERN RANDOLPH AND
GUILFORD COUNTIES...

At 625 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Prospect Hill to near McLeansville to 7 miles
east of Thomasville, moving east at 50 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE...Law enforcement.

IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Locations impacted include...
Greensboro, High Point, Burlington, Asheboro, Graham, Randleman,
Thomasville, Elon, McLeansville and Archdale.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Straight line winds can blow down trees, power lines, and damage
mobile homes and other buildings. Seek shelter in a sturdy structure
until the storm has passed. Stay away from windows as flying debris
generated by damaging winds can be deadly.

These storms have knocked numerous trees down across Guilford
County. SEEK SHELTER NOW inside a sturdy structure and stay away
from windows.

...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL AFFECT SOUTHERN DAVIDSON...NORTHWESTERN
MONTGOMERY...SOUTHWESTERN RANDOLPH AND NORTHEASTERN STANLY COUNTIES
UNTIL 715 PM EDT...

At 610 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Linwood, or 7 miles east of Salisbury, moving east at 35 mph.

Wind gusts up to 50 mph will be possible with this storm.

Locations impacted include...
Asheboro, Lexington, Badin Lake, Seagrove, Linwood, Denton, Eldorado,
Fish Tales Marina, Whip-O-Will Campground and Newsom.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Seek shelter in a nearby building or vehicle. Wind gusts as high as
50 mph are capable of knocking down small or weakened trees and
blowing around trash cans, potted plants, lawn furniture and other
light outdoor objects.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for central North Carolina.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

Hazardous weather is not expected at this time.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday.

An isolated severe thunderstorm will be possible Thursday afternoon
with the main severe weather hazard being damaging wind gusts.

A very moist and unstable atmosphere will lead to the development of
scattered thunderstorms Friday and Saturday. The thunderstorms will
produce brief periods of torrential rainfall, possibly resulting in
minor flooding. Additionally, a few of the storms may become severe
producing damaging wind gusts and marginally large hail.
