A strong cold front will move northwest to southeast across the area between through the mid morning hours. In the wake of this front, north winds will likely gust to at least 40-45 MPH for at least a few hours. Northerly winds gusting up to 40mph will remain possible through the afternoon hours. Clearing skies and decreasing winds will allow temperatures to fall near to slightly below freezing tonight. Areas most favored to see sub freezing temperatures will be along and northwest of a line from Stockton, Kansas to Osceola, Nebraska. A Freeze Watch is in effect for these areas. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday. Near to below freezing temperatures are possible across the area Saturday morning, coldest for central and northwestern portions of the area under a Freeze Watch. Another round of sub freezing temperatures is possible Saturday night into Sunday morning. At least near- critical fire weather conditions are forecast within at least portions of our forecast area each afternoon from Saturday into the middle of next week.
