This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for south central Nebraska and
portions of north central Kansas.

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight.

Heat index values will be near 100 degrees this afternoon,
especially east and south of a line from Columbus to Grand
Island to Alma.

An isolated strong to marginally severe storm can`t be ruled
out late this evening or overnight mainly west of an Ord, to
Lexington, to Beaver City line. However, storm coverage will be
sparse and the severe weather risk is quite low.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday.

The main story this week will be the heat and humidity,
especially Monday and Tuesday with a Heat Advisory in effect.
Heat indices during the late afternoon and early evening hours
both days will likely range from 100 to 108 degrees, and possibly
higher in some spots. Temperatures may drop just a bit Wednesday
and Thursday but heat index values will still be near 100 degrees
at the end of the week.

There are isolated thunderstorm chances Monday through Wednesday,
with a slightly better risk for thunderstorms Wednesday night and
Thursday. Much of the storm activity would likely occur during
the evening or overnight hours.
