* TIMING...Thursday afternoon and evening.

* WINDS...West 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 2 percent.

* RFTI...5 to 6 or critical.

* IMPACTS...Avoid the use of open flames or any activities that
  may generate sparks. Accidental ignitions will have the
  potential to grow into dangerous wind-driven wildfires.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for southeast New Mexico,
southwest Texas and western Texas.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

Elevated to near critical fire weather conditions will continue today
across the higher terrain of west Texas and SE NM.

A low risk of severe thunderstorms is expected this afternoon across
the eastern Permian Basin. Large hail and damaging winds are the main
threats.

Hazardous heat will continue across the Big Bend north to the Davis
Mountains this afternoon.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday.

Critical fire weather conditions are possible Thursday across the
higher terrain and adjacent plains of SE NM and W TX.

Hazardous heat conditions are possible over the next week, mainly
across the Rio Grande and the higher terrain of Southwest Texas.

Strong winds are possible Thursday through Sunday in the Guadalupe
and Delaware Mountains.
