This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for northern New York, central
Vermont, northeast Vermont, northwest Vermont and southern Vermont.

.DAY ONE...This afternoon and tonight.

Ice break up on rivers and associated ice jams have occurred today.
These ice jams could lead to additional, very localized flooding
through tonight.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday.

Additional ice break up on rivers with continued warm conditions,
along with rain on Wednesday, could lead to more instances of
localized flooding.

...The National Weather Service in Burlington VT has issued a Flood
Warning for the following rivers in New York...

  East Branch Ausable River At Ausable Forks affecting Essex and
  Clinton Counties.

.An ice jam will cause water to infiltrate the lowlands along the
river.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks. Water levels can rise
very quickly behind ice jams, or the jam can release with no
warning. Stay well away from any ice.

...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT FROM THIS MORNING TO JUST AFTER MIDNIGHT
TONIGHT...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...East Branch Ausable River at Ausable Forks.

* WHEN...From this morning to just after midnight tonight.

* IMPACTS...At 7.0 feet, Minor flooding can occur in Keene. Water
  begins to overflow onto Hulls Falls Road, Route 73, and Route 9N
  near Marcy Field. High water will impact interests at Alice Falls
  near Keeseville.
  At 8.0 feet, In Jay, water will cover Route 9N near Trumbulls
  Corner. Minor flooding can occur in Keene. Water begins to
  overflow onto Hulls Falls Road, Route 73, and Route 9N near Marcy
  Field. High water will impact interests at Alice Falls near
  Keeseville.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 10:15 AM EDT Sunday the stage was 8.4 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 10:15 AM EDT Sunday was 8.4 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 8.9
    feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage this
    evening.
  - Flood stage is 7.0 feet.
  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
    8.9 feet on 10/08/2023.
