EVENING...

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for the Capital District and Mid
Hudson Valley in east central New York.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

Internet for more information about the following hazards.

   Heat Advisory.

Scattered thunderstorms are possible this afternoon and evening.
There is a marginal risk of severe weather, with isolated storms
capable of producing damaging wind gusts and large hail. Locally
heavy rainfall is also possible, which could result in minor urban
and poor drainage flooding.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday.

Thunderstorms are likely on Wednesday. There is a marginal risk for
severe weather. Locally heavy rainfall is also possible, which could result
in minor urban and poor drainage flooding and isolated flash
flooding.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation may be needed today and Wednesday.

...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM THIS MORNING TO
8 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

* Heat Index Values...95 to 100 due to temperatures in the upper
  80s to near 90, and dewpoints in the lower 70s.

* Timing...This afternoon.

* Impacts...Heat illnesses likely for those spending prolonged
  periods of time outdoors or in non-air conditioned locations.
  Prolonged heat is most dangerous for young children and the
  elderly. Car temperatures can reach lethal temperatures in
  minutes.

* Location...Capital District and mid-Hudson Valley.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Heat Advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is
expected. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity
will combine to create a situation in which heat illnesses are
possible. Drink plenty of fluids...stay in an air-conditioned
room...stay out of the sun...and check up on relatives and
neighbors.
