The National Weather Service in Albany has issued a

* Flood Advisory for...
  Albany County in east central New York...
  Greene County in east central New York...
  Western Ulster County in east central New York...

* Until 130 PM EDT.

* At 1019 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. Minor flooding
  is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area.
  Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen with the highest
  amounts in the eastern Catskills.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Albany, Cohoes, Colonie, Ellenville, Hunter, Delmar, Latham,
  Guilderland, Woodstock, Westerlo, Berne, Voorheesville, Altamont,
  Windham, Prattsville, Lanesville, Preston-Potter Hollow,
  North-South Lake Campground, Preston Hollow and Phoenicia.

Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the
area with the highest amounts in the eastern Catskills. This
additional rain will result in minor flooding.


Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for western Massachusetts, the
western Mohawk Valley, southern Adirondacks, Lake George Saratoga
Region, Greater Capital Region, Taconics, the Mid Hudson Valley in
eastern New York, and southern Vermont.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

A storm system today into tonight is expected to produce moderate to
heavy rainfall, which may lead to ponding of water on roads in low
lying and poor drainage areas.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.

Showers taper off during the day Wednesday. Storm total rainfall
amounts of 1 to 3 inches may lead to ponding of water on roads in
low-lying and poor drainage areas. A Flood Watch may need to be
issued if confidence increases for higher rainfall totals.

Another system may bring a widespread heavy rainfall Friday night
through Saturday with additional hydro concerns possible.


Spotter activation is not expected at this time.
