...FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 2 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Runoff from yesterday`s heavy rain caused the Bronx River
  to rise to moderate flood stage of around 3.7 ft early this
  morning. Water levels are slowly falling, but the river remains in
  minor flood stage.

* WHERE...A portion of southeast New York, including the following
  county, Bronx.

* WHEN...Until 200 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Water over Bronx River Parkway due to elevated stream
  flow on the Bronx River.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 943 AM EDT, The river has crested and will continue to
    subside below minor flood stage of 3 ft through this
    afternoon. Flooding should subside on the Bronx River Parkway
    once water levels fall below 3 ft.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    East Tremont, Woodlawn and Fordham.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become
unstable and unsafe.
