This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of northern...
western...central...and southern Oklahoma...and western north
Texas.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight...

.Heat...
Heat indices of 105 to near 112 degrees are expected this
afternoon across much of the area.

.Thunderstorms...
Isolated storms will be possible late this afternoon and evening
across northwest Oklahoma. The stronger storms may produce strong
wind gusts and small hail.


.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday...

.Thunderstorms...
Thunderstorm chances will occur each day from Tuesday through
Saturday with the highest chances across northern into eastern
Oklahoma. A few strong to severe storms will be possible, but
widespread severe weather is not expected.

.Heat...
Afternoon heat indices of 100 to near 110 degrees will continue
across much of the area Tuesday.

9 PM CDT THIS EVENING...
...HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM NOON TO 9 PM CDT TUESDAY...

* HEAT INDEX VALUES...Around 110 degrees.

* TIMING...Sunday afternoon and evening and again Monday
  afternoon and evening.

* IMPACTS...The excessive heat may quickly cause heat stress or
  heat stroke.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Take extra precautions, if you work or spend time outside. When
possible, reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when
possible and drink plenty of water.

   To reduce risk during outdoor work, the occupational safety
and health administration recommends scheduling frequent rest
breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome
by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location.   Heat
stroke is an emergency, call 9 1 1.

   An Excessive Heat Warning means that a prolonged period of
dangerously hot temperatures will occur. The combination of hot
temperatures and high humidity will combine to create a DANGEROUS
SITUATION in which heat illnesses are likely. Drink plenty of
fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and
check up on relatives and neighbors.
