This Outlook is for Northwest and West Central Arkansas as well as
much of Eastern Oklahoma.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

DANGEROUS HEAT.
RISK...Significant.
AREA...Eastern Oklahoma and West Central Arkansas.
ONSET...Ongoing.

AREA AT GREATEST RISK...Northeast Oklahoma and Arkansas River Valley.

DISCUSSION...
Dangerously hot conditions will persist through this afternoon
across eastern Oklahoma and west central Arkansas. Heat index
values between 100 and 110 degrees are expected, with the higher
indices across northeast Oklahoma into the Arkansas River valley
of west central Arkansas. Continue to take proper heat
precautions while outdoors today. A Heat Advisory remains in
effect until 8 PM this evening for eastern Oklahoma and west
central Arkansas.

SPOTTER AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ACTION STATEMENT...
Spotter Activation Not Expected.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday.
MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY...Dangerous Heat Potential.

EXTENDED DISCUSSION...
A prolonged period of hot, humid, and dry weather will continue
through the week ahead as a dome of high pressure holds over the
southern Plains. Afternoon heat index values of 100 to 110 degrees
will be common across all eastern Oklahoma and much of northwest
Arkansas. The numerous days of hot and humid conditions, along
with warm overnight low temperatures, will increase the risk of
heat stress across the region. Daily heat headlines are likely
through the week. Very low chances of rain are expected through
the next week.
