AREA...Northwest Arkansas into far eastern Oklahoma. ONSET...Midday. POOR VISIBILITY. RISK...Limited. AREA...Southeast Oklahoma. ONSET...Ongoing...ending just after sunrise. DISCUSSION... Scattered to numerous thunderstorms are expected mainly during the afternoon hours across the region in association with an upper disturbance. Coverage will be greatest over northwest Arkansas into far eastern Oklahoma. Organized severe weather is not expected, but locally heavy rainfall and gusty winds could accompany the storms. Some patchy light fog is possible across southeast Oklahoma. This fog should burn off after sunrise this morning. SPOTTER AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ACTION STATEMENT... What is left of the upper disturbance is expected to lift north on Thursday, and mainly afternoon storm coverage will be greatest closer to the system across northwest Arkansas and far northeast Oklahoma. A ridge of high pressure aloft is expected to build over the region by late in the weekend and persist into early next week.
