Dangerous to very dangerous heat returns areawide today, with afternoon heat indices between 105 and 115 expected. The highest numbers are expected across eastern Oklahoma and west-central Arkansas. SPOTTER AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ACTION STATEMENT... Spotter Activation Not Expected. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday. WEDNESDAY...Thunderstorm...Dangerous Heat Potential. THURSDAY and FRIDAY...Dangerous Heat Potential. SATURDAY and SUNDAY...Thunderstorm...Dangerous Heat Potential. MONDAY...Dangerous Heat Potential. EXTENDED DISCUSSION... Dangerous to very dangerous heat will persist into Wednesday, again with afternoon heat indices in the 105 to 115 degree range. A front is expected to focus isolated to widely scattered thunderstorms by late Wednesday afternoon into Wednesday night, mainly across northeast Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas. These storms will carry a limited severe weather risk. The front will take the edge off the heat for Thursday across the north and Friday areawide, though afternoon heat indices will still top triple digits in most places.
