DISCUSSION...
Rain showers along with scattered thunderstorms will continue
across much of eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas today
before beginning to taper off and exit overnight tonight. The
greater potential for thunder is across southeast Oklahoma into
this evening ahead of a low pressure system moving eastward over
northern Texas. There remains an isolated potential for a couple
strong storms near the Red River, while the greater instability
resides south of the Red River. Also through this evening, a heavy
rain threat exists with additional rainfall amounts of near a half
inch to locally over 2 inches forecast from north to south, which
could create localized flash flood concerns. Behind the exiting
low pressure system, gusty northerly winds spread into the region
this evening and overnight.

SPOTTER AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ACTION STATEMENT...
Spotter Activation Not Expected.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday.
SUNDAY AND MONDAY...High Wind Potential.
TUESDAY...Very High Fire Weather Potential...High Wind Potential.
WEDNESDAY...High Fire Weather Potential.
THURSDAY...Very High Fire Weather Potential...High Wind Potential.

EXTENDED DISCUSSION...
Breezy to gusty northerly winds continue into Sunday before
weakening Sunday night and returning back to the south Monday. For
next week, elevated fire weather danger is the main concern across
eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas. Gusty southerly winds and
warmer conditions Monday and Tuesday will aid in elevating fire
weather concerns over the region. Winds look to weaken some
Wednesday, though increase again from the west and southwest
Thursday with continued fire weather dangers each afternoon.
