.NOW...
At 10:15 PM, National Weather Service radars continued to detect
thunderstorms and rainshowers over portions of eastern Oklahoma.
This activity was located west of a line from Miami to Okemah.
Other thunderstorms were crossing the Red River and moving into
Choctaw county, as well. Movement was to the northeast at 50
miles an hour.

Through 11 PM, thunderstorms will continue to push across the
region, generally east of Pawhuska, to Pawnee, to Hugo line. This
would include the far western portions of northwest Arkansas.
Damaging wind gusts, large hail, intense rainfall, and dangerous
cloud to ground lighting will be possible across this area.
Additionally, an increasing wind and tornado threat will be in
place across eastern Oklahoma, east of highway 75 to areas near
the Arkansas border.

* At 1014 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 3 miles northeast
  of Preston, moving northeast at 40 mph.

  HAZARD...Golf ball size hail and 60 mph wind gusts.

  IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail
           damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect

much of Eastern Oklahoma.

SEVERE THUNDERSTORM.

AREA...Much of Eastern Oklahoma and all of Western Arkansas.

FLASH FLOOD.

DISCUSSION...

Clusters of strong to severe thunderstorms will continue across
northeast this evening with the threat for large hail to golf balls
and very heavy rain.  Additional severe thunderstorm development is
expected across all of eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas
overnight ahead of a strong cold front with the potential for very
large hail, damaging winds and localized flash flooding. Very strong
wind fields ahead of the front will support the potential for a few
strong tornadoes, mainly south of I-40.  The severe threat is
expected to shift east of the region late tonight.

SPOTTER AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ACTION STATEMENT...
Activation of the Regional Spotter Network Expected.

MONDAY and TUESDAY...No Hazards.
WEDNESDAY...Thunderstorm Potential...Hind Potential.
THURSDAY...Thunderstorm Potential.

EXTENDED DISCUSSION...

The next storm system and cold front will bring a chance for
storms Wednesday night into Thursday. Instability will be lacking
with this system, thus the coverage and intensity of storms will
be low.
