This Outlook is for Northwest and West Central Arkansas as well as
much of Eastern Oklahoma.

.DAY ONE...Tonight.

DANGEROUS HEAT.
RISK...Elevated.
AREA...Eastern Oklahoma and west central Arkansas.
ONSET...Ongoing...gradually lessening this evening.

DISCUSSION...
Hot and humid conditions will only slowly improve this evening.
Heat index values around 100 degrees are possible well
after sunset.

SPOTTER AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ACTION STATEMENT...
Spotter Activation Not Expected.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.
WEDNESDAY thru SUNDAY...Dangerous Heat Potential.
MONDAY...No Hazards.

EXTENDED DISCUSSION...

A dangerous combination of heat and humidity is expected
for the next several days across the region. Excessive
heat warnings and advisories will remain in effect for
much of the region.

A pattern change is possible going into early next week, with some
data suggesting the ridge will shift west, and allow a cold front
to bring some relief from the heat to start the next work week.

EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT PLANNING STATEMENT...

This is the first extended heat wave of the summer season. Several
days in a row of dangerous heat are expected. City and county
officials should expect an increase in heat-related incidents in
the days ahead.
