AREA...Southeast Oklahoma and West Central Arkansas.
ONSET...This Afternoon.

DISCUSSION...
A cold front will move slowly south across the area today into
this evening. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will occur near
and north of the front today and tonight, with a limited severe
weather threat in the form of large hail and damaging winds.
Locally heavy rainfall will also be possible, especially tonight
when storm coverage will likely be greatest.

Ahead of the front, heat index values will climb into the 100 to
105 degree range this afternoon across parts of southeast
Oklahoma and west central Arkansas.

EXTENDED DISCUSSION...
An unsettled weather pattern will continue over the next week,
with near daily shower and thunderstorm chances. Some severe
weather threat will exist most days, along with the threat for
locally heavy rainfall. Current indications are that Sunday
afternoon and evening may be the time period with the greatest
threat for severe weather and locally heavy rainfall.
