DISCUSSION...
Scattered showers and thunderstorms continue through the afternoon
and evening before slowly diminishing tonight. A few storms may be
severe this afternoon with damaging wind and large hail, mainly in
southeast OK and northwest AR. In this same area, a few storms
with heavy rain may also occur leading to localized flash flood
potential. Storm activity will clear out from northwest to
southeast tonight. Where clouds clear, areas of patchy fog may
occur. The most likely location will be in northeast OK.

Local Spotter Activation May Be Needed.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday.

THURSDAY...No Hazards.
FRIDAY...Dangerous Heat Potential.
SATURDAY TO TUESDAY...No Hazards.

EXTENDED DISCUSSION...
Little to no precipitation is expected for the remainder of the
forecast period. As a result temperatures will rise with dangerous
heat potential by Friday. Temperatures will remain very high
Saturday onwards, with heat indices only slightly lower than
Friday.

...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT FROM THURSDAY MORNING TO EARLY
SATURDAY MORNING...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Illinois River near Tahlequah.

* WHEN...From Thursday morning to early Saturday morning.

* IMPACTS...At 13.0 feet, minor flooding occurs from near Hanging
  Rock downstream towards Tahlequah. Access roads east of the Combs
  Bridge near Eagles Bluff may be threatened. Extreme turbulence
  makes the river too hazardous for floating.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 8:30 AM CDT Wednesday the stage was 7.6 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    tomorrow morning to a crest of 12.9 feet Friday morning. It
    will then fall below flood stage late Friday evening.
  - Flood stage is 11.0 feet.

...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT FROM LATE THURSDAY NIGHT TO FRIDAY
MORNING...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Illinois River at Chewey.

* WHEN...From late Thursday night to Friday morning.

* IMPACTS...At 12.0 feet, minor flooding occurs from near Fidler`s
  Bend to near Hanging Rock. Road access near the river to
  residential homes southeast of Chewey Bridge may be compromised.
  Water begins to impact 630 Road east of the Cherokee/Adair County
  line. Floating the river is too hazardous due to strong turbulence.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 8:15 AM CDT Wednesday the stage was 5.5 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 12.0
    feet early Friday morning.
  - Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
