SEVERE THUNDERSTORM. RISK...Limited. AREA...Far Southeast Oklahoma. ONSET...After midnight. SIGNIFICANT WINDS. RISK...Limited. AREA...Eastern Oklahoma and Northwest Arkansas. ONSET...Ongoing. DISCUSSION... Additional isolated thunderstorms may develop late tonight across far southeast Oklahoma and these storms will pose a limited risk of severe weather. Locations near the Oklahoma Kansas border will be another area to monitor for overnight storms as cold front approaches from the north. Currently the chances appear very low in the area but should storms develop then severe weather will be possible. SPOTTER AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ACTION STATEMENT... Local Spotter Activation May Be Needed. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday. WEDNESDAY...Severe Thunderstorm Potential...High Wind Potential. THURSDAY...Thunderstorm Potential. FRIDAY AND SATURDAY...No Hazards. SUNDAY AND MONDAY...Thunderstorm Potential. EXTENDED DISCUSSION... Thunderstorms are likely to develop in or near portions of northeast Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas early Wednesday morning. Storms will increase in coverage through the day as a cold front sweeps southward. Severe weather is likely with these storms with large hail and locally damaging winds the primary hazards. A tornado threat will also exist with the most intense storms. Storm chances diminish on Thursday with dry and mild weather returning to the region for late week into the weekend.
