For the second Heat Advisory, heat index values up to 107 expected. * WHERE...Portions of northwest and west central Arkansas and east central, northeast, and southeast Oklahoma. * WHEN...For the first Heat Advisory, until 7 PM CDT this evening. For the second Heat Advisory, from noon to 7 PM CDT Monday. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses are possible especially impacting those not acclimated to the conditions or those performing strenuous activities. RISK...Elevated.
AREA...Near Oilton southeast to Webbers Falls and then east along I-40 in the lower Arkansas River Valley.
ONSET...Ongoing...ending by around 7 PM.
DISCUSSION...
Dangerous heat exists along and south of an outflow boundary,
where heat indices between 105 and 109 are observed. Conditions
will improve toward sunset this evening.

EXTENDED DISCUSSION...
Hot weather will persist across the region through much of the
upcoming week. Heat headlines will be likely across portions of
the region on most days. There is small potential for a cold
front toward the end of the week which would bring increasing
thunderstorm chances and cooler temperatures.
