This Outlook is for Northwest and West Central Arkansas as well as
much of Eastern Oklahoma.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

DANGEROUS HEAT.
RISK...Significant.
AREA...Eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas.
ONSET...Now.

AREA AT GREATEST RISK...Northeast Oklahoma.

FIRE WEATHER DANGER.
RISK...Limited.
AREA...Eastern Oklahoma and Western Arkansas.
ONSET...Now.

DISCUSSION...
Very hot conditions continue today with heat index values
ranging from the mid 90s in the highest terrain of northwest
Arkansas to near 115 degrees in parts of northeast Oklahoma.
Most areas will see heat index values today of 105 to 110 degrees.

Breezy weather today will combine with the high temperatures to
increase fire effective conditions some in both wooded and grass areas.

SPOTTER AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ACTION STATEMENT...
Spotter Activation Not Expected.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday.
SATURDAY...Dangerous Heat Potential.
SUNDAY and MONDAY...Thunderstorm Potential...Dangerous Heat Potential.
TUESDAY through THURSDAY...Dangerous Heat Potential.

EXTENDED DISCUSSION...
Dangerous heat is forecast to continue into next week.

The large upper-level high over the region is expected to shift
westward a bit and flatten so that one or more upper-level disturbances
can brush the area late Sunday and Monday. Scattered thunderstorms
are expected Sunday night and Monday with these disturbances as a weak
front comes into the area.

Any reduction in temperature with the front and associated clouds will be
offset some by an increase in humidity.

The heat is expected to build again starting on Tuesday. There
is still no strong signal for a major change to our weather pattern
through the middle of next week.
