Severe thunderstorms with damaging winds 60 mph or greater and
large hail exceeding 1 inch in diameter are possible this afternoon.

A heat wave will continue through midweek. The risk of heat- related
illnesses will be elevated given limited acclimation. Heat impacts
are likely in some health systems, heat sensitive industries, and
infrastructure.

EDT WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...Heat index values up to 100 expected.

* WHERE...A portion of central Pennsylvania.

* WHEN...From 11 AM this morning to 8 PM EDT Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause
  heat-related illnesses.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Heat index values and the associated risk of
  heat-related impacts will be highest on Monday and Tuesday.
  Limited acclimation will increase the risk of heat-related impacts.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay out of the sun, and stay in an
air-conditioned room.

Check up on relatives and neighbors, and provide pets with adequate
water and shelter from the sun.

Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing.

In addition to the daytime heat, overnight low temperatures will
also be very warm and oppressively muggy.
