...The National Weather Service in Columbia has issued a Flood
Advisory for the Congaree River...

  Congaree River At Columbia affecting Lexington and Richland
  Counties

.A combination of copious rainfall and saturated soils during the
Monday through Thursday time frame will result in significant rises
along the Congaree River.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flood Advisory means that nuisance flooding may occur nearest the
river when the level is below the official flood stage.

The National Weather Service in Columbia has issued a
* Flood Advisory for
  The Congaree River At Columbia.
* until Thursday evening, or until the advisory is cancelled.
* At 7 PM Tuesday the stage was 9.1 feet.
* Flood stage is 19.0 feet.
* Advisory stage is 10.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river will rise above advisory stage this evening,
  and eventually crest near 15.7 feet early Thursday afternoon.
* At 14.0 feet...Roads in low-lying areas and swampland downstream
  from Columbia become flooded. Most of the Cayce and West Columbia
  river walk is flooded.
* At 16.0 feet...Old State Road, SC 66, below Cayce becomes flooded.

Carolina...

  Congaree River At Carolina Eastman affecting Calhoun...Lexington and
  Richland Counties

  Congaree River At Congaree National Park-Gadsden affecting Calhoun
  and Richland Counties

  Pee Dee River At Cheraw affecting Chesterfield and Marlboro
  Counties

.A combination of copious rainfall and saturated soils during the
Monday through Thursday time frame will result in minor to moderate
flooding along the Congaree and Pee Dee Rivers.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Safety message...never drive vehicles through flooded areas. The
water may be too deep to allow safe passage. Never allow children to
play in or near flood waters. Stay tuned to noaa weather radio...
local media or the internet for further statements and updated
forecasts.

* At 5 PM Tuesday the stage was 111.9 feet.
* Flood stage is 115.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will rise above flood stage late Wednesday
  morning, and continue rising to a crest near 122.0 feet after
  midnight Sunday morning.
* At 119.0 feet...Extensive flooding occurs in the Congaree
  National Park. Some area farmland is flooded. Minor flooding
  occurs at the Carolina Eastman Facility..

* At 6 PM Tuesday the stage was 13.1 feet.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will rise above flood stage Wednesday
  morning, and continue rising to a crest near 17.3 feet Friday
  evening.
* At 17.0 feet...The access road to the Sandy Run subdivision
  becomes flooded. The lower boardwalk in the Congaree National
  Park becomes flooded by Cedar Creek.
