This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of western South
Dakota and northeastern Wyoming.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Elevated fire weather conditions are expected today as breezy
west to northwest winds help melt some of the snow that fell
yesterday.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday

A High Wind Watch is in effect for late Thursday morning through
Thursday evening. See NPWUNR for details.

The Grassland Fire Danger on the western South Dakota plains will
be very high to extreme outside of snow cover Thursday. Ahead of
a cold front Thursday, near-critical fire weather conditions are
expected due to gusty winds and minimum relative humidities
dropping to 20-30%.

Looking ahead to the weekend, accumulating snowfall may develop
with the best chances for the Black hills into northwestern South
Dakota.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation will not be needed today.
