...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1115 PM MDT FOR
WEST CENTRAL PENNINGTON COUNTY...

At 619 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy
rain across the warned area weakened considerably.

However, up to three inches of rain fell in about an hour during the
late afternoon hours. Locally higher amounts likely fell on the
north fork of Castle Creek. Flash flooding is expected to begin
shortly.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Rochford, Flag Mountain, Mystic, and Deerfield.

This includes the following streams and drainages...South Fork Rapid
Creek...Rhoads Fork...Slate Creek...North Fork Castle Creek...South
Fork Castle Creek...Gimlet Creek...Castle Creek...Rapid Creek
upstream of Pactola reservoir...North Fork Rapid Creek...Cold
Springs Creek...Silver Creek...Gold Run... Bittersweet Creek and
Dutchman Creek.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of the Black Hills
of South Dakota.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

There is a slight chance of thunderstorms over the Black Hills
this afternoon. Severe weather is not expected.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday

Chances for more widespread thunderstorms will return Wednesday. A
few strong to severe storms will be possible.

There will be a daily chance for showers and thunderstorms for the
rest of the week.


.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation will not be needed today.
