THROUGH FRIDAY EVENING FOR WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR
PORTIONS OF SOUTHWESTERN MINNESOTA AND SOUTHEASTERN SOUTH DAKOTA...

* AFFECTED AREA...In Minnesota, Lincoln, Lyon, Murray and
  Pipestone. In South Dakota, Kingsbury, Brookings, Miner, Lake
  and Moody.

* WINDS...Southwest 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 18 percent.

* IMPACTS...Any fire that develops will catch and spread
  quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for northwest Iowa, west central
Iowa, southwest Minnesota, northeast Nebraska, central South
Dakota, east central South Dakota, south central South Dakota and
southeast South Dakota.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

Near critical and critical fire conditions today due to very low
humidity and wind gusts 35 to 45 mph. Isolated gusts to 50 mph are
possible between the James River and Interstate 29. Use caution to
prevent sparks.

Blowing dust may lead to reduced visibility. Be prepared for changing
visibility if traveling.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.

Elevated to near critical fire weather conditions continue Friday due
to low humidity and wind gusts 20 to 30 mph.

Showers and thunderstorms return Saturday night into Monday. Strong
to severe storms are possible, although confidence is low in exact
timing and coverage. Monitor the forecast especially if you have
outdoor plans.
